Jason is perhaps best known as the host of The Gadget Show on Channel Five. He has a prolific ‘corporate career’ and has launched products and hosted consumer and journalist-facing events for over a hundred of the world’s biggest brands including Samsung, Microsoft, B.T, Renault F1, Toyota and Panasonic.
Jason has recently accepted a visiting lectureship at The University of Lincoln.
As a journalist he has written numerous features for newspapers and magazines including The Guardian, PC Format and PC Gamer. He has several Guinness World Records, is a qualified pilot, diver and radio amateur. He is on the judging panels for the BAFTA Video Games Awards and the Media Guardian Innovation Awards.
Jason is a gadget and technology maestro. For The Gadget Show (Channel 5/Discovery) he regularly designs and builds his own gadgets: recent projects include a ‘Heads up Display’ (HUD) for his girlfriend’s Nissan Micra; a £1 electronic Lie Detector and the world’s first wireless and wearable Phone Glove. He has large personal collection of robots and produced his own YouTube robot-fighting channel called SupaRobotAttack.
Over the years he has racked up a number of ‘soft science’ credits: Top Gear GTI (BBC2, UK Horizons), The Store @ the end of the World (A ‘Boys Toys’ format for Granada), Mad Science (RTS award winning children’s science series for Granada) Cheats (two year running gadget and games show for Trouble TV), Hard Labour (a journalistic investigation of the world’s toughest jobs for Bravo TV) and Front Room (flagship show for BBC Knowledge that combined ‘chat show’ with every conceivable ‘ology’).
