Director of Research & Enterprise, UoL
Andrew is Director of Research & Enterprise at the University of Lincoln and leads the department which supports all research and enterprise activity across the institution, including: research grant support; business start-up & growth; technology transfer; funding partnerships; knowledge exchange; employer engagement and careers & employability.
At the heart of this work is a drive to establish wide and deep relationships with key industrial partners (e.g. Siemens around engineering and the Lincolnshire Co-operative around pharmacy). Andrew also has a leading role in establishing the Lincoln Science & Innovation Park and the Lincoln Growth Fund (supported by the Regional Growth Fund).
Prior to joining the University, Andrew established his own business from start-up, through development and growth to eventual sale. During this period he also secured an Executive MBA, with a particular focus on the reasons for SME short-term failure and how this can be improved.
Andrew is currently a Director and Chair of the East Midlands Incubation Network, a Director of Investors in Lincoln and the University spin-out company Metnano Limited.
